The Portland Opera's Education and Outreach program prides itself on providing opportunities for our entire community; from school children to adults. Our goal is to provide quality information and interaction to further one's understanding and appreciation for opera.
We offer a whole array of children's programs which include Student Dress-Rehearsals, backstage tours, individually created curriculums for classrooms, based on Oregon Department of Education guidelines and our yearly tour of a 50 minute popular opera. Additionally, we visit classrooms and work with students to create "mini" operas in our new program Interactive Opera.
With all of the options for students, over 20,000 students yearly, are able to experience opera and how the arts impact their lives.
For adults, we provide custom lectures, workshops and concerts for various community groups around the state. Also, in addition to our pre-curtain talks held at the Keller before each performance, we offer community previews, discussions, lectures and concerts all based around our season.
We invite you to enjoy our offerings to further enhance your opera experience.
